The game was released in 2009 and is a third-person action-adventure game. You get to play as the Overlord in the game. A mysterious evil warrior set to destroy and rule all of the land which is conquered by the “Glorious Empire.” The game lets you go against a roman influenced army using your skills and commanding a group of mischievous hordes you will be calling as minions. The game follows a humorous dark side set in a fantasy genre which most players of the game find very amusing and fun.

The main gameplay of the game was retained from the previous version of the game wherein you control the Overlord in a third person perspective who can command over your minions, a group of goblinlike characters which will be your instruments as you travel and defeat different civilizations of the “Glorious Empire” who will be your main enemy. Your minions start with only a number of two but as the game progresses, they multiply in numbers and their abilities will differ such as for battling and some for healing other fallen minions. As they go stronger, they will be able to mount monsters and other animals in the game which they will be able to use during battles giving them more speed and power; while the Overlord himself can equip different weapons and stronger armors as the game progresses; and as the Overlord becomes stronger, his number of command over the minions increases letting the minions find treasures, crank interactive objects, carry heavier loads and even operate siege weapon, and other machines like boats, etc. The player can also occasionally gain control of his current strongest minion to lead the weaker ones using a special object in the game called the “Possession Stone”. The game will totally bring you to an epic adventure and give you the chance of playing the bad guy which comes seldom in most games out there.

Overall, this is a very fun and exciting gameplay with quest that can be challenging to players. The visuals and sound effects are breathtaking and the unending humor that the minions and NPCs bring will always make the game interesting and fun to follow. This is a must download game for those players seeking for a fun filled adventure action games.
