Hello, and welcome to another year of WWE Smackdown vs. RAW and
that means another year of the Road to Wrestlemania, in which you
select one of the available superstars to play through the weeks
heading up to Wrestlemania XXVI. I will be attempting to show the
different pathways that are available for each superstar, what
differences your decisions make, make you aware of what match-ups
to expect, and what you want to be doing if you want to unlock
everything the game has to offer. This guide is going to walk
through Rey Mysterio’s Road to Wrestlemania story.

To make your way through the guide, you can find tags at the
beginning of each week and event. The tags for each event in Rey
Mysterio’s Road to Wrestlemania are shown above.
Week 1 – Smackdown! [REY-WK1]
Rey’s Road to Wrestlemania certainly has an interesting start,
with him being involved in what appears to be a limo accident in
the garage area. You will awaken to a fight between Jack Swagger
and Evan Bourne, to which you can, momentarily at least,
interfere, before collapsing to the floor. Medical personnel come
to your aid, and that ends your first week.
Week 2 – Smackdown! [REY-WK2]
To start off this week, head into the corridor from the parking
lot. You will see the Bella twins standing around a fire looking
panicked. Go grab an extinguisher (purple dots on the map after
you’ve spoken to the twins) and put out the fire to get an
interesting segment with The Hurricane. After that, head to the
south locker room where Evan Bourne is waiting to say it’s good
to see you back in a conversation that makes it quite clear that
Rey is not back to anywhere near 100%. You’re given the
opportunity to call Bourne to ask for him to watch your back
during the match tonight, but the decision is of little
consequence. A simple match as usual to begin the Road to
Wrestlemania
SINGLES MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin
Week 3 – Smackdown! [REY-WK3-SD]
You’ll begin the week with a phone call from Teddy Long informing
you that the security tape from the arena of the accident has
gone missing, and that you’ll need a tag partner for your match
tonight. [Challenge Match #1 – Before heading to choose your
partner, head to the north locker room and talk to Edge, who’ll
tell you to look for Jericho. Jericho will be in the parking lot,
and will challenge you to a match next week on Superstars when
you confront him].
To choose your partner, you’ll have to go to either the south
(Evan Bourne) or the eastern (Jack Swagger) locker room. There
isn’t much difference in terms of storyline for the choice
(albeit changing your opponents for the match), but choosing
Swagger does allow you to unlock an alternative attire for him

Week 3 – SuperStars [REY-WK3-SS]
It’s interesting how Thursday comes after Friday in this game,
but whatever. I’ll be honest, submission matches aren’t really
Rey’s speciality, so it’s going to take a lot of punishment to
finally get Chris Jericho to submit to a normal struggle
submission. If the match is turning out to be too difficult, you
can always add a submission finisher or powerful submission move
into his moveset, even temporarily.
CHALLENGE MATCH #1

Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho
Week 4 – Smackdown! [REY-WK4-SD]
Heading to the exclamation point in the parking lot, you will be
treated to another Hurricane segment (whatsupwithdat?). Heading
into the building, you’ll be greeted by Morrison and Benjamin,
who will claim that you’re being used by someone (and claim
different people), whilst Morrison will suggest you head to the
trainers office to get checked out. From this point you’ll begin
to hobble (which makes the walk to the office that much more
tedious). Heading to see the trainer will unblock some of the
speech that was going on around the time of the crash, and Rey
will head to talk to Swagger (red exclamation mark).
[Challenge Match #2 – Head to the south locker room before
heading out for your match, Edge and Christian will be there
complaining that they’ve lost their old-school luchador outfits.
Head to the green room to pick them up and take them back to Edge
and Christian to set up a 6-man tag match.]
Unlocks: Edge and Christian Conquistador outfits
The match is a standard triple threat affair, which means No DQs,
so feel free to take advantage of that if you like.

Week 4 – SuperStars [REY-WK4-SS]

Royal Rumble [REY-RR]
Hello and welcome to the Royal Rumble. Head to the GMs office to
receive your entry number to the Royal Rumble match. Also, you’ll
have to visit the north locker room, where Jack Swagger has been
ambushed, allegedly by Evan Bourne, and his Royal Rumble number
stolen. He asks you to eliminate Bourne for him as payback, as
he’s in no fit state to compete. Royal Rumble matches are
difficult, especially with someone as small as Mysterio, but if
you keep your momentum up, it shouldn’t be too hard.
ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
Unlocks: Rey Mysterio Civilian Attire
Week 5 – Smackdown! [REY-WK5]
Start the week by heading to talk to Bourne (south locker room).
He’ll say it wasn’t him who attacked Swagger, and has no idea
about the incident. Heading to Swagger (north locker room) will
then trigger a further clearing flashback. After that, head to
the ring, as you have a match with Edge, which you of course
can’t win. Fight all you want, Swagger will eventually interfere
on your behalf, costing you the match.
SINGLES MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. Edge
Week 6 – Smackdown! [REY-WK6-SD]
You’ll get a phone call off of Evan Bourne to start the week,
asking you what’s gotten into you, but eventually he’s
interrupted by what appears to be someone attacking him. Best go
check what’s going on. But first…
[Challenge Match #3 – Head to the trainers room to bump into Knox
and Truth, who will challenge you to a match]
…anyway, heading to the south locker room, you’ll bump into
Swagger who will ask for your assistance with Edge tonight. Evan
Bourne will arrive after Swagger leaves to ensure that you won’t
tarnish your reputation any further, and if you want to, you’ll
have to go through him. To get Bourne out of the way, you’ll have
to drop his health to lower than 1/3. The TV is your friend for
quick finishers and high damage.

Week 6 – SuperStars [REY-WK6-SS]
Simple matchup here with no surprises (but an awesome entrance,
R-Truth), and a single 619 should do the job to clear this
challenge match.

Week 7 – Smackdown! [REY-WK7]
Head to the south locker room, where you’ll tell Swagger about
the doubts you’re having about your personality over the last few
weeks, but he’ll tell you not to worry (naturally). Eventually,
you’ll be interrupted by Edge, who isn’t happy with you and
Swagger’s scheming of late. Swagger jumps him and it’s time to
make him pay for his insubordination. Shouldn’t cause too many
problems by now.

Week 8 – Smackdown! [REY-WK8]
(A story arc will start at the end of this week, so it is
advisable to keep a save file from this week if you wish to
explore both branches of the story)
So, to begin this week you’ll have to head to the GM’s office.
Rey will demand being put in the #1 contenders match tonight, and
will get what he wants at the expense of his Wrestlemania title
shot. As you attempt to head to the ring, Evan Bourne will tell
you he has something you need to see, but is interrupted by an
organiser telling him he’s up.
FATAL FOUR WAY LADDER MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger vs. Edge
After the match it will be shown that Swagger was the one that
hit you with his car, and it’ll be up to you whether you forgive
him or not, and the story arcs here. I will be going through the
forgiveness arc first.
Rey Mysterio Says Yes Branch
Elimination Chamber – Said Yes [REY-EC-Y]
Head to the south locker room for a pump-up talk from Swagger
(accompanied by the Bella twins), and then out for your World
Heavyweight Championship match with CM Punk. Surprisingly easy
for a championship match.

Week 9 – Smackdown! – Yes [REY-WK9-SD-Y]
[Challenge Match #4 – Randy Orton is in the north locker room
and, unconvinced by your new personality, will challenge you to a
match]
Head to south locker room to see Swagger. He’s bought you a new
attire to make you look more menacing as a present for winning
the World Heavyweight Championship. After this, head to the ring
for a bit of promo time with the All-American American. Evan
Bourne comes out to challenge you and Swagger to a tag team match
tonight against him and an unspecified partner. A simple tag team
match, even with the star partner Bourne brought in.

Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne and Rob Van Dam
Week 9 – SuperStars – Yes [REY-WK9-SS-Y]
The Viper shouldn’t pose any particular threat to you at this
point, as this is a standard singles match with no surprises

Week 10 – Smackdown! – Yes [REY-WK10-SD-Y]
[Challenge Match #5 – Head to the south locker room where The
Hurricane will name you his nemesis, which means a match later
on]
As for the main bits of the story, head to the interview area
where Swagger will be getting interviewed ahead of his United
States match against Evan Bourne. Swagger asks Rey to hit Bourne
with the US title whilst he distracts the referee, so that’s
what’s gonna happen. It will be quite obvious when you need to
hit Bourne, so do so to allow Swagger to claim the gold.

Week 10 – SuperStars – Yes [REY-WK10-SS-Y]
A match that is fit for super hero vs. super villain, a cage
match where only escape will do. Beat Hurricane up enough until
you can escape to win this, the fifth and “final” challenge
match.

Rey Mysterio vs. The Hurricane
Week 11 – Smackdown! - Yes [REY-WK11-Y]
Head to the GMs office where you’ll see Evan Bourne demanding a
shot at retribution after you cost him his title last week, a
shot at your title, in fact. Rey argues that Bourne doesn’t
deserve a title shot since he couldn’t hold on to a lesser title.
Teddy Long sets up Bourne vs. Mysterio for tonight, with Bourne
getting his title shot at Wrestlemania if he wins. Swagger calls
you up after this conversation to let you know that he will not
let Bourne get his title shot. Turns out this isn’t quite as
accurate as he suggested. Bourne can’t be defeated during the
match, and eventually Swagger will come and get you disqualified.
Evan Bourne is now the #1 contender for Wrestlemania.
SINGLES MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. Evan Bourne
Week 12 – Smackdown! – Yes [REY-WK12-Y]
The week begins with a stern talking to from Batista, who tells
you to cut the cheating out, and asks where your pride and honour
have gone. Batista warns of an intervention coming, and Rey heads
to the locker room to regroup with Swagger, but he won’t let you
in. Head to the north locker room for the intervention. You can
either start with Cryme Tyme or Matt Hardy, but naturally you’re
more likely to trigger Cryme Tyme first. It’s worth noting that
you can technically lose here and continue, so getting
overwhelmed, which is possible especially against JTG and Shad,
isn’t the end of the world. If you manage to get through the
first two “tests”, a third will be awaiting you.

Hello and WELCOME TO WRESTLEMANIA. First of all, if you’ve been
paying attention to the challenge matches, then Terry Funk is
waiting for you in the green room for you.

Rey Mysterio vs. Terry Funk
Unlocks: Terry Funk
Heading to the south locker room, you will confront Swagger about
his no-show from the beatings on the last Smackdown!. Swagger
claims he will make it up to you by attacking Bourne in the Falls
Count Anywhere match you have with him tonight, but Rey refuses,
saying he will prove he can beat Bourne on his own. After this,
head to the ring.
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Evan Bourne
After the match, Rey will start to compliment Bourne, which will
summon Swagger to complain that Rey should be complimenting him
for saving his life, and for helping him gain the championship.
Rey says that he owes Swagger something, but it isn’t his
gratitude, as another World Heavyweight Championship match is set
up and is under way nearly immediately. This is a much harder
match (especially with Swagger’s technical skill meaning that he
reverses an awful lot)

affair so should be no issues in taking his title.

Week 9 – Smackdown! – No [REY-WK9-N]
We start off with Rey in the ring thanking the fans for their
support. Swagger interrupts to tell Rey that he wants a title
shot, which he won’t get given after what he did to you, but he
still insists that he will get it, sooner or later. After the
promo segment, CM Punk will tell you that he knows he can beat
you, and is invoking his rematch clause tonight. Meanwhile, Teddy
Long will also send you a message informing you that it is No-DQ
tonight.
[Challenge Match #4 –Head to the north locker room and speak with
Orton. He says he can see Bourne has potential, and wants to face
him on RAW. Rey suggests that Bourne would jump at the chance,
this sets up a match next week on RAW]
Of course, Swagger will come down to attack you and, whilst he is
in the vicinity, you can not beat Punk (the referee will not
count until Evan Bourne is down too), so you’ll have to either
beat him down, or wait until he decides to leave. Eventually,
after Swagger decides to leave, the match is quite a simple one,
again.

Week 10 – RAW – No [WK10-R-N]
You’ll be controlling Evan Bourne in this match, who is fairly
similar to Rey (speedy sort of wrestler) so the tactics will be
similar (There’s a signature move for knocked down on back at the
head, and Bourne’s finisher is from the top rope, if you weren’t
aware of his moveset). Overall, a fairly simple match.

Week 10 – Smackdown! – No [WK10-SD-N]
Teddy Long will call to start the week, telling you he needs you
to swing by his office, but first…
[Challenge Match #5 – Head to the south locker room to bump into
Hurricane, who will suggest he’s not been doing his superhero
duties as of late, and nominates you as his nemesis, challenging
you to a match]
Head to Teddy Long’s office. Swagger will be complaining about
Mysterio and Bourne, and says he wants a match with you two
tonight. Long makes the match and tells you that you should
inform Bourne. Head to the north locker room where Bourne has
been laid out by Swagger, you’ll leave saying you need to make a
phone call, which will take you to the match.
HANDICAP MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk and Jack Swagger
Playing through the match for a bit will cause ROB VAN DAM to
appear, apologising for being late. This causes the match to
restart

Cage match with Hurricane for the fifth challenge match, should
be fairly simple, but it is escape only, so climbing the cage or
leaving via the door are the only options

Week 11 – Smackdown! [REY-WK11-N]
Swagger starts the week by telling you that he’s not finished
with you. In fact, CM Punk has got a present for Rey…but no he’s
not, CM Punk comes out to tell Swagger that his obsession with
Mysterio is not one that he shares, and gets attacked for his
trouble. Surprisingly enough, after his crazy outburst, your
match for the week is simple and goes off without a hitch. A
simple singles match.
SINGLES MATCH
Rey Mysterio vs. Edge
Week 12 – Smackdown! - No [REY-WK12-N]
Start the week by heading to the exclamation point to speak with
Bourne. Bourne says he’s feeling alright after the attack a few
weeks ago, but is unsure about a Swagger attack, not to mention
the fact he’s facing a new Superstar tonight in Todo Americano.
You take control of Bourne for the match, with the optional goal
of hitting your finisher. You’re always destined to win, albeit
by DQ. After a while, Todo Americano will go and do something to
obviously be disqualified, which, combined with his
reversal-heavy fighting style, can make the optional goal quite
difficult. After the DQ, you’ll take control of Rey to attack
Todo for a while before the story continues.

to hobble (which makes the walk to the office that much more
tedious). Heading to see the trainer will unblock some of the
speech that was going on around the time of the crash, and Rey
will head to talk to Swagger (red exclamation mark).

heading out for your match, Edge and Christian will be there
complaining that they’ve lost their old-school luchador outfits.
Head to the green room to pick them up and take them back to Edge
and Christian to set up a 6-man tag match.]

Hello and welcome to the Royal Rumble. Head to the GMs office to
receive your entry number to the Royal Rumble match. Also, you’ll
have to visit the north locker room, where Jack Swagger has been
ambushed, allegedly by Evan Bourne, and his Royal Rumble number
stolen. He asks you to eliminate Bourne for him as payback, as
he’s in no fit state to compete. Royal Rumble matches are
difficult, especially with someone as small as Mysterio, but if
you keep your momentum up, it shouldn’t be too hard.

Week 5 – Smackdown! [REY-WK5]
Start the week by heading to talk to Bourne (south locker room).
He’ll say it wasn’t him who attacked Swagger, and has no idea
about the incident. Heading to Swagger (north locker room) will
then trigger a further clearing flashback. After that, head to
the ring, as you have a match with Edge, which you of course
can’t win. Fight all you want, Swagger will eventually interfere
on your behalf, costing you the match.

Week 6 – Smackdown! [REY-WK6-SD]
You’ll get a phone call off of Evan Bourne to start the week,
asking you what’s gotten into you, but eventually he’s
interrupted by what appears to be someone attacking him. Best go
check what’s going on. But first…
[Challenge Match #3 – Head to the trainers room to bump into Knox
and Truth, who will challenge you to a match]
…anyway, heading to the south locker room, you’ll bump into
Swagger who will ask for your assistance with Edge tonight. Evan
Bourne will arrive after Swagger leaves to ensure that you won’t
tarnish your reputation any further, and if you want to, you’ll
have to go through him. To get Bourne out of the way, you’ll have
to drop his health to lower than 1/3. The TV is your friend for
quick finishers and high damage.

Simple matchup here with no surprises (but an awesome entrance,
R-Truth), and a single 619 should do the job to clear this
challenge match.

Week 7 – Smackdown! [REY-WK7]
Head to the south locker room, where you’ll tell Swagger about
the doubts you’re having about your personality over the last few
weeks, but he’ll tell you not to worry (naturally). Eventually,
you’ll be interrupted by Edge, who isn’t happy with you and
Swagger’s scheming of late. Swagger jumps him and it’s time to
make him pay for his insubordination. Shouldn’t cause too many
problems by now.

Week 8 – Smackdown! [REY-WK8]
(A story arc will start at the end of this week, so it is
advisable to keep a save file from this week if you wish to
explore both branches of the story)
So, to begin this week you’ll have to head to the GM’s office.
Rey will demand being put in the #1 contenders match tonight, and
will get what he wants at the expense of his Wrestlemania title
shot. As you attempt to head to the ring, Evan Bourne will tell
you he has something you need to see, but is interrupted by an
organiser telling him he’s up.
FATAL FOUR WAY LADDER MATCH

After the match it will be shown that Swagger was the one that
hit you with his car, and it’ll be up to you whether you forgive
him or not, and the story arcs here. I will be going through the
forgiveness arc first.

Head to the south locker room for a pump-up talk from Swagger
(accompanied by the Bella twins), and then out for your World
Heavyweight Championship match with CM Punk. Surprisingly easy
for a championship match.

Head to south locker room to see Swagger. He’s bought you a new
attire to make you look more menacing as a present for winning
the World Heavyweight Championship. After this, head to the ring
for a bit of promo time with the All-American American. Evan
Bourne comes out to challenge you and Swagger to a tag team match
tonight against him and an unspecified partner. A simple tag team
match, even with the star partner Bourne brought in.

The Viper shouldn’t pose any particular threat to you at this
point, as this is a standard singles match with no surprises

Hurricane will name you his nemesis, which means a match later

As for the main bits of the story, head to the interview area
where Swagger will be getting interviewed ahead of his United
States match against Evan Bourne. Swagger asks Rey to hit Bourne
with the US title whilst he distracts the referee, so that’s
what’s gonna happen. It will be quite obvious when you need to
hit Bourne, so do so to allow Swagger to claim the gold.

Week 10 – SuperStars – Yes [REY-WK10-SS-Y]
A match that is fit for super hero vs. super villain, a cage
match where only escape will do. Beat Hurricane up enough until
you can escape to win this, the fifth and “final” challenge
match.

Week 11 – Smackdown! - Yes [REY-WK11-Y]
Head to the GMs office where you’ll see Evan Bourne demanding a
shot at retribution after you cost him his title last week, a
shot at your title, in fact. Rey argues that Bourne doesn’t
deserve a title shot since he couldn’t hold on to a lesser title.
Teddy Long sets up Bourne vs. Mysterio for tonight, with Bourne
getting his title shot at Wrestlemania if he wins. Swagger calls
you up after this conversation to let you know that he will not
let Bourne get his title shot. Turns out this isn’t quite as
accurate as he suggested. Bourne can’t be defeated during the
match, and eventually Swagger will come and get you disqualified.
Evan Bourne is now the #1 contender for Wrestlemania.

Week 12 – Smackdown! – Yes [REY-WK12-Y]
The week begins with a stern talking to from Batista, who tells
you to cut the cheating out, and asks where your pride and honour
have gone. Batista warns of an intervention coming, and Rey heads
to the locker room to regroup with Swagger, but he won’t let you
in. Head to the north locker room for the intervention. You can
either start with Cryme Tyme or Matt Hardy, but naturally you’re
more likely to trigger Cryme Tyme first. It’s worth noting that
you can technically lose here and continue, so getting
overwhelmed, which is possible especially against JTG and Shad,
isn’t the end of the world. If you manage to get through the
first two “tests”, a third will be awaiting you.

Heading to the south locker room, you will confront Swagger about
his no-show from the beatings on the last Smackdown!. Swagger
claims he will make it up to you by attacking Bourne in the Falls
Count Anywhere match you have with him tonight, but Rey refuses,
saying he will prove he can beat Bourne on his own. After this,
head to the ring.

After the match, Rey will start to compliment Bourne, which will
summon Swagger to complain that Rey should be complimenting him
for saving his life, and for helping him gain the championship.
Rey says that he owes Swagger something, but it isn’t his
gratitude, as another World Heavyweight Championship match is set
up and is under way nearly immediately. This is a much harder
match (especially with Swagger’s technical skill meaning that he
reverses an awful lot)

We start off with Rey in the ring thanking the fans for their
support. Swagger interrupts to tell Rey that he wants a title
shot, which he won’t get given after what he did to you, but he
still insists that he will get it, sooner or later. After the
promo segment, CM Punk will tell you that he knows he can beat
you, and is invoking his rematch clause tonight. Meanwhile, Teddy
Long will also send you a message informing you that it is No-DQ
tonight.
[Challenge Match #4 –Head to the north locker room and speak with
Orton. He says he can see Bourne has potential, and wants to face
him on RAW. Rey suggests that Bourne would jump at the chance,
this sets up a match next week on RAW]
Of course, Swagger will come down to attack you and, whilst he is
in the vicinity, you can not beat Punk (the referee will not
count until Evan Bourne is down too), so you’ll have to either
beat him down, or wait until he decides to leave. Eventually,
after Swagger decides to leave, the match is quite a simple one,
again.

You’ll be controlling Evan Bourne in this match, who is fairly
similar to Rey (speedy sort of wrestler) so the tactics will be
similar (There’s a signature move for knocked down on back at the
head, and Bourne’s finisher is from the top rope, if you weren’t
aware of his moveset). Overall, a fairly simple match.

Teddy Long will call to start the week, telling you he needs you
to swing by his office, but first…

Hurricane, who will suggest he’s not been doing his superhero
duties as of late, and nominates you as his nemesis, challenging
you to a match]
Head to Teddy Long’s office. Swagger will be complaining about
Mysterio and Bourne, and says he wants a match with you two
tonight. Long makes the match and tells you that you should
inform Bourne. Head to the north locker room where Bourne has
been laid out by Swagger, you’ll leave saying you need to make a
phone call, which will take you to the match.
HANDICAP MATCH

Playing through the match for a bit will cause ROB VAN DAM to
appear, apologising for being late. This causes the match to
restart

Cage match with Hurricane for the fifth challenge match, should

Week 11 – Smackdown! [REY-WK11-N]
Swagger starts the week by telling you that he’s not finished
with you. In fact, CM Punk has got a present for Rey…but no he’s
not, CM Punk comes out to tell Swagger that his obsession with
Mysterio is not one that he shares, and gets attacked for his
trouble. Surprisingly enough, after his crazy outburst, your
match for the week is simple and goes off without a hitch. A
simple singles match.

Week 12 – Smackdown! - No [REY-WK12-N]
Start the week by heading to the exclamation point to speak with
Bourne. Bourne says he’s feeling alright after the attack a few
weeks ago, but is unsure about a Swagger attack, not to mention
the fact he’s facing a new Superstar tonight in Todo Americano.
You take control of Bourne for the match, with the optional goal
of hitting your finisher. You’re always destined to win, albeit
by DQ. After a while, Todo Americano will go and do something to
obviously be disqualified, which, combined with his
reversal-heavy fighting style, can make the optional goal quite
difficult. After the DQ, you’ll take control of Rey to attack
Todo for a while before the story continues.
