How to use a proxy and access blocked sites

In the recent times we have seen a number of countries putting up bans on websites for variety of reasons. Just few days back pakistan and few islamic countries banned Facebook as it allowed to run a blasphemous campaign on their network. But there will be millions out there in those countries who want to use facebook or for that matter any other blocked site.

Sometimes schools, colleges and offices also block certain sites(mostly social networking and porn sites) so that their students and staff don't waste their time. But their is a way out of all these blockages and that is using a Proxy server. A proxy doesn't reveal your identity in that way it also protects your privacy as well.
Basically we have two types of proxies out there:

  1. Web Proxies: They are basically websites that let you access any other website on the world wide by feeding that address into proxies address bar. Mostly they are free services and are slow most of the times. If you search on google you will get plenty of them.
  2. IP or HTTP address proxy: They are fed into your browser or application settings and they work on particular browser or app only. Personally I like these kind of proxies. You rarely get these proxies for free but they are better. One of the site is PROXZ

Apart from that you get variety of other paid and free proxy softwares which when used hide your identity and bypass any network blockage. One such free software is available here TOR. Hope you enjoyed reading this article.
